Memory Screen By Alien Workshop | Skate Sonr

Memory Screen by Alien Workshop is one of the great elder skate films of the 90s. It's shot with a 4:3 aspect ratio, which was common in the 90s. The filming can also be blurry or fairly dark at times, but that mostly speaks to how difficult it was at the time to get good footage. Hollywood quality cameras were massively expensive and also very heavy, so skate companies had to do with whatever equipment was affordable and easy to follow skateboarders with.

The skateboarding itself is great. You'll find lots of early street skateboarding as well as a good amount of vert skateboarding. You'll also find lots of scenes where skaters were still using the single cone skateboards before the double cone skateboards as we know them took over.

Overall, this film is a gem of skateboarding history. Whether you're just starting out skateboarding or you've been at it since the 1950's you'll find watching this film will be both educational about the progression of skateboarding and also amazed at what the skate industry had to work with in the early days of making films.
