Primitive Skate began in 2008 by Paul Rodriguez, Heath Brinkley, Andy Netkin, Jay Partow, and Jubal Jones.
Paul released a limited run of 500 gold painted skateboard decks which sold out rapidly. In 2014, Paul Rodriguez quit the Plan B team and 10 months later announced Primitive Skate on April 10th, 2014. Originally the team consisted of Paul Rodriguez, Carlos Ribeiro, and Nick Tucker.
Since launching, Primitive has partnered with brands or entities to bring skateboard decks featuring Tupac Shakur, Notorious B.I.G, Dragon Ball, Rick and Morty, Naruto, Sailor Moon, My Hero Academia, and Terminator as of this writing. The company also sells clothing and other apparel also featuring content from these brands and entities.
