In the mid 90s Rodney Mullen and Daewon Song had accumulated enough video clips to put out full parts for each of them. The problem was that there weren't enough clips by fellow team members to put out a full length video.
Mullen and Song decided to jokingly put out a video that pitted them against each other in a jokingly way. The rest of the video would be a sort of demo of fellow team members from World Industries, A-Team, and Blind.
After the video's release, it became an instant success, and thus the Mullen VS Song saga was born.
