"I made this video to show you the reality of the skate scene here in Barra Mansa, south of Rio de Janeiro, state of Brazil.
The local government built a "skatepark" that was a complete waste of public money badly designed and barely skateable. So, we decided to take matters into our own hands, skate punk never dies. We scavenged some rocks and scrap wood to build a quick DIY kicker right in the middle of the park.
The video shows us building it and a quick session testing it out. It’s a small victory, but it shows we’re still here and resisting the bad politics that hurt our scene." - Miguel Franco
