Carhartt WIP and Salomon return for their second collaboration, expanding on the shared values that defined their first partnership: functionality, durability, and an uncompromising commitment to performance. Known for their contemporary reinterpretation of hardwearing gear, Carhartt WIP has retooled a key Salomon silhouette resulting in a rugged, detail-driven design. The X-ALP Carhartt WIP is constructed to meet the demands of any environment. Built from years of collective design expertise, the shoe incorporates robust grainy leather and suede overlays accented with Carhartt WIP’s signature camouflage. X-ALP Carhartt WIP is available globally on December 18th at 10AM CET on salomon.com, carhartt-wip.com, the brands’ stores and selected retail partners.

With visuals directed by Bailey Marklew, the accompanying campaign takes place in a remote outpost plagued by electromagnetic anomalies and warped gravitational pulls. As a team of researchers work to uncover the truth, a sinister presence makes itself known – a creature hidden from perception, save for a set of writhing thread-like tendrils, reaching out as if searching for something it once lost, but which still endures.

Director / Editor: Bailey Marklew
Photographer: Jack Symes
Production & Set Design: Studio Info
Styling: Lottie Collins
DOP: Ruben Neviazsky
Music: Kit Seymour
Color Grading: Matthew Blacklock
Models: Amane, Elodie, Elliot
Casting Director: Tally Francis

More from Carhartt WIP
Official website: https://www.carhartt-wip.com/
Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/carharttwip/
TikTok: https://www.tiktok.com/@carharttwip

The documentary film Hi-Fi Seoul by Kompakt Record Bar in support of Carhartt WIP, spotlights Sewoon Plaza, the historic hub of Korea’s audio market. It follows an obsessive pursuit of sound, the revival of vinyl pressing plants by a new generation, and how vinyl is now consumed as an “experience.” Through the lens of Kompakt Record Bar, the film captures this convergence of past and future across audio, records, and DJ culture. With audio artisans at Sewoon Plaza with over 40 years of expertise and music director Soulscape in the film, the project brings together a diverse cast of voices and gives Hi-Fi Seoul both depth and character.

About Kompakt Record Bar
Founded in 2018 in Apgujeong, Kompakt Record Bar is a local bar where a hi-fi sound system and a long-collected selection of vinyl records are played alongside reasonably priced drinks. Built on a foundation of affection and respect for vinyl culture and the local scene, it has grown into a brand that also offers apparel, accessories, and lifestyle products. Carhartt WIP’s Fall 2025 campaign offers a cinematic shift in perspective, while reaffirming its core tenets of heritage – the idea of functional clothing to be worked and lived in – and its symbiotic relationship with culture, spanning continents, scenes and genres.

Shot in Atlanta by Daniel Derro Regan, with art direction from Ben Dorado, a series of vignettes and images reflect ideas around labor and living, situated in a city that has become an epicenter of cultural production and influence over the past decade. Through documentary-style photography, the images seek beauty in everyday reality, while offering a visual ode to a city that has made its presence undeniable.

But scratch beyond the surface, and you will also find something more universal. A reality that can be found in Detroit or Berlin, Warsaw or Taipei — or anywhere else if you care to look hard enough. That reality is often defined by the moments in-between — doing nothing with a friend, a simple meal, a moment of calm before or after work. When nothing really happens, but the chaotic, unrelenting nature of modern life temporarily recedes. Those are the moments we learn to cherish, because this is what it means to live now.

Credits:

Photographer / Videographer: Dan Regan
Creative Director : Ben Dorado
Production : Mike Minahan @ Suffolk Downs Studios + Kevin Wall @ Apple Box Prod
DOP : Jeff Petermann
Styling: Brezhanè Townsend
Model: Ayanna, Aminah, Chelsea, Harmony, Akim, Gordon, Haleigh, Jaylin, Sheron, Kaiden…
Casting Director: Michele Mansoor
Location Manager : John Doe
Editor/Sound Design : Red Expanse

------
More from Carhartt WIP
Official website: https://www.carhartt-wip.com/
Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/carharttwip/
TikTok: https://www.tiktok.com/@carharttwip
