After six years away from U.S. contests, Ivan Monteiro makes his return in a major way. Earlier this year, Ivan turned pro for Shorty’s—their first new pro in two decades—and backed the moment by dropping his latest video, Dream Chaser. But the road to pro status wasn’t easy. Contest technicalities left him in limbo, unsure of his standing, but that didn’t keep him from competing. Ivan shifted his focus to the global stage, entering events around the world where the status on his board couldn’t hold him back.
