If the heart of surfing is about connecting, then there’s likely little more you can do than tandem surf with your young, frothing grommie. Bringing the next generation into the fold of what surfing means to you can be a rewarding experience. You get to surf all the time, may have a surf bud for life, and maybe instil some of the stoke for a lifetime of getting out there.<br /><br />South Africa legend, Remi Petersen, has been tandem surfing with his three-year-old daughter Ocean at their local spot of Jeffreys Bay since day dot. They’re a celebrated part of the lineup and the community, catching waves, high-fives and big smiles wherever they go. “When I was Ocean’s age, my Dad would get me into the water and into the surfing,” said Remi. “I think that has been the direction of my life since that time, until now where I’m passing it over to Ocean.
