A first taste of the season for South Africa at the iconic Bruce's Beauties. There were good surfers out there, locals and groms spread between Killers, Bruce’s, and Huletts Reef, the gentle left-hander that reels across the bay towards the Bruce’s end-section close out.
This was really a day for Killers, the section that breaks right at the top of the point at Bruce’s. This is also dependent on sand build-up, which is a bit of rarity. But there it was, towards the end section, offering some sketchy take-offs into the barrel for anyone willing to go. When there is sand, this is one of the best waves in the area, and Killers is the prime section.
