2023 Quemao Class | Bodyboarding: Final Day Highlights

On the final day of the 2023 Lanzarote Quemao Class, Amaury Lavernhe was crowned as the event's bodyboarding champion.

The competition showcased some of today's best tube riders, including the nine-time world bodyboarding champion, Mike Stewart.

The contest had plenty of high scores, including Perfect 10s, matching the spectacular ocean conditions with the riders' skills and talent at the infamous Spanish reef break.

Amaury Lavernhe, a dominant force in world bodyboarding, secured his fourth Quemao Class title.

The bodyboarding final was a fierce competition between Lavernhe, Alex Uranga, Willian Lujan, and Ethan Capdeville.

"I can't believe it. We always look forward to this event because we know that when it works out, we will have exceptional waves," said Lavernhe.

"Every year, there are new people, like William Lujan or Ethan Capdeville, and not so new, like Alex Uranga, who know the wave well and pose a challenge."

"The conditions have been incredible. We are with Mother Nature for this event and are very privileged to have been invited."

Oswaldo Betancort, the governor of Lanzarote, echoed this sentiment in his concluding remarks.

"It is true that the biggest wave in the world is in Nazaré, but the most perfect tube in Europe is here in Tinajo, Lanzarote."
