Mega Glide | Skate Sonr

Mega Glide

Matthew Allen's first foray into surf film. Bathed in light leaks and film grain, Mega Glide takes the psychedelic lighting that Allen captures in his Borrowed Light photo series and brings it to life, the light moving with and around surfer Shawn Parkin as he navigates the waves. The boys posted up at a local point break and former Surfer's Journal photo editor Parkin proceeded to smoothly glide his Deepest Reaches Megafish from the top of the point all the way to the sand, over and over again.

The rocker on the Dominator Pro is true to the style of rocker on the original Dominator, but with a moderate increase in curve from nose to tail.The bottom contour's concave configuration is a near match of the Dominator 2.0’s concave, with slightly more single concave under the front foot in the Dominator Pro, flowing into a double barrel concave through the fins that transitions to a vee out the tip of the tail. It's for really good surfers or good surfers who want to up their game or want a bit of forgiveness compared to a pure performance shape.​ The rocker on the Dominator Pro is true to the style of rocker on the original Dominator, but with a moderate increase in curve from nose to tail.<br /><br />For Wave Type, The Dominator Pro is a true performance all rounder suited to waves thigh high and above, all the way up into overhead and hollow surf, but does work well in a variety of conditions. Backstrom and Delzer and their newborn baby, Betty, and dog Buddy hit the road in their Toyota Sienna minivan, traveling from Tahoe to Revelstoke chasing snow throughout the peak of the season. Between ski action and landscape scenic of the country's best lift-accessed terrain, subplots unfold—specifically, the ever-changing balance of being a professional athlete and mother and a gender role reversal for her husband as the main caregiver for their daughter. Accompanied by Ingrid's parents, as well, for a large portion of the trip, a third dynamic develops with a generational role as the new grandparents (and parents) introduce the skiing culture to Betty as they did Ingrid.
