Edits of Uluwatu often make it look like a super easy place to surf, with perfect barrelling waves on every set, but the reality is quite different. There are plenty of close-outs, steep take-offs, strong currents, a shallow reef, and often a gnarly crowd to deal with. The second clip of this edit shows how easy it is to catch you nose on the take-off and get yourself a nice little Indian Ocean workout!<br /><br />Saying all that, Uluwatu was definitely dishing out the goods a few days ago, with plenty of nice long walls and deep barrels at the Racetrack section.
