Anthony Walsh stops to chat with us about the notorious break on the North Shore of Oahu, Pipeline.
Walsh admits that Pipeline is one of the most dangerous breaks not only because of the heavy waves, but because of the crowds and the caverns at the bottom of the ocean floor. The combination of all three characteristics make Pipe incredibly hazardous.
Therefore, one of the biggest tips for surfing Pipe is to know your surroundings and be sharp when you're out in the water. This won't 100% protect you out in the lineup, but it being aware and safe can optimize your time out in the water.
