I’m a 35 year-old skateboarder who developed the current biggest community in the Action Sports Industry based on love and camaraderie values. I didn’t start skating as a kid, I actually started skating at 28 as an almost desperate measure while trying to quit alcohol and other bad habits in my life.<br /> <br /><br />Longboard Girls Crew Co-Founder & CEO.<br /> Her career has always been linked to boardsports, in a personal & professional way. She worked as a producer and speaker of music & extreme sports radio and TV shows in Argentina, designed clothes for boardsports brands and did research for La Nación, Argentina’s most prestigious newspaper. She left her hometown at 20 to travel around Europe and settled in Madrid. She created the music & extreme sports Fanzine Try Walking for more than 7 years while working at corporations until the founding of Longboard Girls Crew. Now she promotes women in action sports in every possible way, specially focusing on gender equality. <br /> <br /> She’s a regular speaker at conferences in events and universities talking about the role of Women in the Industry and Society in general. She travels regularly to different countries organizing Girls Meets and spreading her love & camaraderie values wherever she goes.<br /> <br /><br />This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community.
