Futures is proud to announce the signing of one Australia’s top emerging talents, Currumbin’s Jack Freestone. The 22 year old, two time WSL World Junior Champion officially joins the team after having ridden the Futures system and fins over the past year. Coming off his most successful year of competition on the World Qualifying Series in 2014, Freestone is excited about the new opportunity to enhance his equipment.<br /><br />“I love the Futures system, it’s strong and you can really feel the connection of the fins to the board,” said Freestone. “In all conditions, having that positive drivey feeling is key to gaining speed, which is critical. I’m looking forward to working with the designers to develop some new options to really suit my needs. I’m so psyched to be part of the team.”<br /><br />Already in 2015 Freestone has just put the finishing touches on a starring role in filmmaker Kai Neville’s latest release, Cluster. His segment in the film is chock full of the high-flying, high-risk surfing that has become his trademark. This is the highest profile segment that Jack’s released to date, and surely just the first of many to come.<br />Jack rides DHD surfboards shaped by Darren Handley. Cons rider Kevin Rodrigues collaborated with Ben Chadourne and Jean-Louis Huhta to bring you an audio visual representation of his skateboarding in Paris, France.<br /><br />Kevin sourced a range of his own musical influences and worked closely with Jean-louis to create the bespoke composition tailored to suit this film. It was filmed and directed by Ben in the recent<br />Parisian winter months providing a cold, dark cityscape where everyone involved found a creative influence.<br /><br />About Kevin Rodrigues<br />Kevin grew up skateboarding in Paris, which has shaped his creatively rich diverse output. Looking at skateboarding, spots and style with a unique vision that is both refreshingly natural and inspiring.
