Two blocks off Las Vegas Boulevard were shut down for some ripping skateboarding this weekend. We squeezed in some ramps and had a best line contest where we got to see some of our favorite pros and ams from Dennis Busenitz, Jamie Thomas (when was his last contest?), Billy Marks, Tristan Funkhouser, Tyson Bowerbank, Sebo Walker and more. Thanks Zappos for having us out for a fun and casual event. It was so casual Daewon Song was there and didn't skate. Aw man, maybe next year we can get him in there. All that followed by a free show by Taking Back Sunday really made our day and night in Vegas the best it could have been. A couple GoPro clips we threw together after a shorebreak session in mainland Mexico with three-time World Champion Tom Curren. Somehow he came across an alaia while bodysurfing...but ended up breaking it in half on his last wave, "Back to nature," said the soft spoken legend of his busted alaia.
