Last night Blind, Supra, and KR3W surprised Kevin Romar with a going pro party. He was shocked when we arrived from a dinner diversion with Spencer Hamilton. Spencer suggested we get a beer after dinner where we rolled up to the Red Room in Long Beach. Little did he know there was a packed house awaiting him for the surprise. Joel's tube during his quarter-final with Gabe Medina was something much more than a 10 ...<br /><br />For the entire beach, it went beyond depth or criticality, and into the goosebump zone, especially for the Parkinson clan. {Wife Monica may have been even more stoked than Joel}.<br /><br />It is the zenith of one of the finest afternoons of surf spectating in recent memory -- a handful of crazy heats as the sun descended over the Bay Of Biscay.<br /><br />Parko didn't have the monopoly on goosebumps during the golden hour however. Kelly and Dane were also throwing in soul arches, hands-free lay-forwards, and that other level of athletic/mental mastery that turns a sporting event into something much more profound.
