On Friday February 24, 2012, we were paid a visit by Plan B's PJ Ladd and Element's Levi Brown and Donny Barley. <br />After the signing, the gallery was opened up for a reception of new work by San Francisco artist and Element Advocate Mike Kershnar.<br /><br />Kershnar's work draws inspiration from global shamanic hunting/healing traditions as well as skateboard graphics, graffiti, and comic books.<br /><br />Along with the exhibition of new works and installations, Kershnar gave out 50 copies of a 'zine he created for his first Boston show.<br /><br />At the end of the night everyone in attendence joined in to wish Orchard founder and co-owner Broderick Gumpright a happy birthday.<br /><br />The art exhibit will be on display until the end of March.<br />A huge thank you everyone that came out and to Element and Plan B for helping put on this memorable event.<br />Filmed and Edited by Michael Chew. <br />http://pueblo2012.blogspot.com/

Quim Cardona hit me up the other night at the last minute before he went on stage for an open-mic event at The Bowery Poetry Club in NYC. And Joel Meinholz and I rushed over from a skate session downtown to check it out. The event called 'The Coffee Grind' is a weekly occurrence every Thursday and is put on by MC "Creature". The talent was across the board but the room was filled with skilled artists and a supportive crowd. Quimtime rocked the mic with a short rhyme set to a beat he collaborated on with the great Paulo Diaz. Quim has been holding it down on the skateboard and the mic for over 2 decades. Check out his short performance.
