How does an otherwise-sane man celebrate when finding out he's requalified for next year's tour via the injury wildcard? He tries to destroy himself all over again. After yesterday's Pipe final, celebrating punters had their minds blown when Aritz scooped the steepest and deepest Backdoor pit of the entire season. Having no luck injuring himself there, he then decided to take out an inflatable boat and shoot the white-water rapids of Waimea stream, full of toxic fertilisers and dirty, rotten, old bacteria.
