What it is...? (August '25 Update)

I guess it's been two years since the last admin blog update. Does anyone else feel like the pandemic happened in 2020/2021, and then time just moved way faster? There's probably a scientific term for this phenomenon. I guess it would be E = mc2, but it's not a very conjugative way to describe anything.

Anyways, let's ignore the above.

Let's talk about this site, what's with it, where it's been, and where it's going. To answer all that, I don't know. I guess the most concrete answer is that this site isn't going anywhere. As long as I can afford to keep it up, I will. However, I don't always have time to give it maintenance, code up features, and post content.

To be 100% honest, one of the best things this site has personally done for me is that when I show off this site to prospective employers, they're always impressed that I built this and have consistently gotten job offers afterwards. So that job security is 100% worth the cost it takes to run this site.

That aside, this site is and will always be a work of love. Unfortunately, love doesn't translate to availability to work on it all the time.

I had a family member get cancer, my basement flooded, requiring a full remodel (again!!), travel requirements for work, take care of my 6 cats and 14 fruit tree mini orchard, take care of my lady and our household, etc. That's just a short list of things keeping me busy away from working on this site.

But I've been fighting to force myself to find time to work on this site. I've seen how the data on this site has been used by other people on their sites, and it's inspiring. That pushes me to continue working on this site little by little as long as I can.

If you've read this far, thank you for listening to the ramblings of a dude typing this late at night who should be in bed getting rest. Take care of yourself, take care of your loved ones, and take a minute of gratitude for having them in your life.
